“Cap off your Internet Week fun by joining Angelwish and Social Media for Social Change (SM4SC) for an 8-team double-elimination charity Wiffleball tournament.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Angelwish. Created in 1999 with the mission to provide the public with an easy way to grant wishes to the millions of children that are living with HIV/AIDS around the world, Angelwish acheives its mission by ensuring that 100% of individual donations are used for program services and that those funds are extended, where possible, to incorporate an educational component giving young people a hands on lesson in philanthropy.
Rules
We’ll be playing “clean” wiffleball rules (no juiced bats or balls) and each team will play at least 2 games during the tournament. Bats, balls and water will be provided. Unfortunately, alcholic beverages are not permitted as this location is a NYC public Park.
Teams
When buying your ticket, please specify if you have a preferred team you’d like to play for (this information will not be made public until event time). Anyone not on a team by game will be “drafted” onto a team to play a few days before the tourney begins. Make new friends!
To see the teams and managers as they stand now, check out our Wiki here.”We’d also love to see some fans join us on Sunday, and some donations as well if possible. Signup at http://twiffleball.eventbrite.com if you’re interested in contributing!
